 After School Training Program 

Attention Training

Children who have difficulty in focusing attention, controlling their temper or disruptive behaviours, or learning language would probably experience problems at mainstream schools.

The purpose of after school training program is to provide school-based group training for children who would like to enhance their attention, impulse control or language ability, which can facilitate their learning at school. Through the application of advanced technology, the training program can be replicated in multiple schools.

Attention Training

Attention problem is one of the factors affecting the learning and memory of an individual, appropriate training will improve his / her academic performance and behavioural problems. The attention training program was developed by our team based upon scientific evidence. It has been clinically shown to have positive results on improving the attention of a person. 

 

Who are suitable for the attention training?

  1. Children aged from 5 to 16 years

  2. Children with attention difficulty or learning difficulty

  3. Normal intelligence and without severe emotional or behavioural problems; otherwise, they are recommended for Individualised Target-Oriented Clinical Training program

  4. Children who can manipulate computer independently

Format of attention training:

  1. 60 minutes per session after school

  2. 8 - 10 sessions per module 

  3. 5 - 8 children per group

  4. 1 - 2 trainers per group

  5. A clinical psychologist provides supervision for trainers and a follow up feedback session for school teachers

Training fee: HK$1,800 - 2,500 per session

Impulse Control Training

Impulse control problem is common difficulties experienced by children with different types of SEN (including ASD, ADHD, emotional problems, etc.), or individuals with other brain disorders (e.g., dementia, traumatic brain injury, brain tumour, etc.).  Impulse control problem can be manifested as low frustration tolerance, frequent temper tantrums, hyperactive or impulsive behaviours. Such problem can significantly affect a person's learning / working and social interaction with others. Appropriate training can improve his / her academic performance and social relationship with others. 

Characteristics of the impulse control training:

  1. A computerised web-based training program that is developed by our research team based on scientific research on impulse control processes and specific impulse control problems of individuals with different brain disorders

  2. Individuals who have received our training demonstrate significantly less impulsivity and longer sustained attention on task

Who are suitable for the impulse control training?

  1. Children aged from 5 to 16 years

  2. Children with difficulty in controlling his/her behaviours or temper, or attention problems

  3. Normal intelligence and without severe emotional or behavioural problems; otherwise, they are recommended for Individualised Target-Oriented Clinical Training program

  4. Individuals with limited expression and comprehension ability are also suitable

  5. Children who can manipulate computer independently

Format of impulse control training:

  1. 60 minutes per session after school

  2. 8 - 10 sessions per module 

  3. 5 - 8 children per group

  4. 1 - 2 trainers per group

Language Training
Language Training

Language problems include difficulties in expressing in words, verbal comprehension, or specific reading and writing problems. Children with SEN (e.g., ASD, language delay, global developmental delay or dyslexia), or individuals with other brain disorders (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury) manifest different profiles of language problems. Our language training programs were developed based upon scientific evidence. It has been clinically shown to have positive results on improving different language functions of an individual.  

 

Who are suitable for the language training?

  1. Children aged from 5 to 16 years

  2. Children with language problems

  3. Normal intelligence and without severe emotional or behavioural problems; otherwise, they are recommended for Individualised Target-Oriented Clinical Training program

  4. Children who can manipulate computer independently

Format of language training:

  1. 60 minutes per session after school

  2. 8 - 10 sessions per module 

  3. 5 - 8 children per group
